Not One Sport. Not One Facility. Not One Community. All of Us.
We play on fields and courts, in pools and arenas, on ice, tracks and trails - indoors and out, across every corner of our city. We play to compete, connect, belong, stay healthy, and simply because we love it. Sport and recreation are part of what makes Calgary an incredible place to live, work, grow up, raise a family, and age.
Keep Calgary Playing is a Sport Calgary advocacy campaign bringing Calgarians and our sport and recreation community together to raise awareness about the importance of sport and recreation infrastructure and encourage people to have their say about its future. Together, we can build a strong, informed community voice. We want to provide sport organizations and community advocates with accurate and consistent messages that support funding GamePLAN at the Making Waves service level through the 2027-30 Service Plans and Budgets. GamePLAN is the City of Calgary’s long-term public recreation strategy and an adopted Council policy that sets service-level targets and identifies investment needed to keep pace with Calgary’s growth. The direction has been approved; the long-term funding has not.
This Is Our Moment to Come Together
We All Have a Sport. We All Need a Place to Play.
And we need you. This is about coming together to advocate for sport and recreation. This is about athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, organizations, and Calgarians from every corner of our city coming together around something we all share:
The belief that places to play matter. And that, we do not have enough.
